Most people are unaware that the FDA does not require manufacturers to test food before labeling it gluten-free. In many ways, it’s on the honor system. That’s why we test. In general, what is the level of safety of foods labeled gluten-free for those with gluten-related disorders? Testing by both the FDA and Gluten-Free Watchdog has found that the overwhelming majority of products labeled gluten-free are correctly labeled and safe to consume.
