We are excited to announce a new format for Camp Celiac for the 2023 session: One 5-night session for kids ages 9-15, July 15 through July 20, 2023. Due to cost constraints and Camp Arroyo’s need to accommodate other groups, we are unable to provide two separate camp sessions, but we are pleased to offer a longer Camp Celiac.
To receive a reminder about Camp Celiac registration in early 2023, join our list from any page of our website. If you got this by email, you’re already on it.
Camp staff: Junior counselors and counselors will arrive the afternoon of July 14 and will be required to stay for the entire Camp session, and campers will arrive before lunch on July 15 and depart the morning of July 20.
Camp Celiac Alumni Picnic: Also new for 2023, we will offer a Camp Celiac Alumni Picnic on July 20, 2023, at Camp Arroyo for those unable to attend Camp Celiac 2023 (and space permitting, campers attending Camp Celiac 2023). More information to come later.
Registration: As always, Camp Celiac is free with a $25 registration fee (can be waived for need upon request). Registration will open on February 1, 2023, at celiaccamp.org. At that time, we will provide further information and answer questions.
Priority for camper registration is as follows:
1. Campers from Northern California who register for Camp Celiac 2023 any time between February 1, 2023, and February 14, 2023, and who have never before attended Camp Celiac at Camp Arroyo in person.
2. Campers from Northern California who register any time between February 1, 2023, and February 14, 2023.
3. Campers from Northern California who register after February 14, 2023.
4. Campers from outside Northern California.
Lottery: If there are not enough available spaces for any particular group, campers will be selected by lottery. For example, if we do not have space sufficient for all registered campers in category 2, we will select campers by random lottery.
Siblings: We regret that we are not able to give registration priority to siblings. Due to the number of siblings that attend Camp Celiac, if we were to accept a sibling because another sibling was admitted, the Camp would fill with families who have siblings attending to the disadvantage of families who register only one camper. We have adopted this policy so that each camper is treated equally.
Covid-19 Policy: We will update our Covid-19 Policy next year based on public health recommendations at that time.

Special thanks to our incredible partner in providing camp, The Taylor Family Foundation; our dedicated volunteer camp staff; our longtime supporter, the Moca Foundation; generous individual and business donors; and the companies that provide in-kind or reduced-cost gluten-free foods for camp.
We look forward to being with our Camp Celiac community again in summer 2023!
